About us

 

Allan and Marilyn Pothecary have been flying since 1993, then in dual line pairs since 1996 and in competitions since 2002.

Allan is a Consultant to the water cooler industry (part time) and Marilyn works (also part time) for a major supermarket chain in customer services.

Having retired from competition in 2007, they now enjoy coaching and developing their wonderful displays and routines for the festivals and corporate events to which they are invited throughout the year.

Close Encounters Kites are a kite display team based in Hampshire.

Stunning displays of precision flying or kites pulling 100 feet (30 meter) long colourful tails are synchronised  to music or with  commentary including a session on how we make the kites do that! We also have a range of single line kites for static displays in the sky.

We work with national organisations, corporate events, schools and private functions – and can be found demonstrating at many festivals large and small - or you can book us for private flying demonstrations or lessons.
